Darpana trains students in dance, drama, music and puppetry. Students are encouraged to learn other related arts for a fuller experience and understanding of performance styles. Specific courses are designed for foreign students who are also assisted with accommodation and other arrangements. These students come for periods ranging from a month to several years. Darpana's extensive library is at their disposal. Visiting students from Brazil, Africa, Italy, Iran, UK and the US also take specialized workshops. Courses can run up to 7 years. Short and long workshops are organized for children and others on topics ranging from martial arts to puppetry, mask making, painting and folk dancing often in conjunction with Natarani. Darpana's library is a resource center open to members of Natarani and students, for information on all forms of dance, drama, literature and the fine arts throughout the world. It houses over 10000 volumes and has an impressive collection of art related periodicals and videos.
